Glass encapsulation | ||
Glass encapsulation can be used wherever the glass acts as a protector against elements or as insulation to keep the objects at a constant temperature. For this reason, glass encapsulation is commonly used in commercial refrigeration, freezing and refrigeration equipment, and in the automotive sector. The main requirement for windows is to ensure a comprehensive view of the road and the surroundings as best as possible. Encapsulation glass is also known as a glass assembly part, since it offers prevailing solutions for the safety and aesthetics of automobiles. Almost any glass design can be encapsulated. The encapsulation of glass using a polyurethane material results in a seal superior to the glass seal. Glass encapsulation without secondary process adhesives reduces components and installation time.

Glazed surfaces are an important differentiator between different car models, especially in the high-end segment, due to their impact on the design, functionality and comfort of the vehicle. The encapsulation of glass is a technology applied to the production of automotive glass and fixed glass that allows the overmolding of a polymer seal directly on the glass, which allows a shorter production cycle. Mexpolimeros offers several products for glass encapsulation that encompass both TPV (thermoplastic vulcanized) and TPE (thermoplastic elastomers based on SEBS). All grades have been developed in close collaboration with the major automotive glass manufacturers and original equipment manufacturers.
